Employees generously support charities
Two charities received about $10,000 each recently through an employee giving program.
Our employees contribute through their pay to two charities each financial year and volunteer their time at a range of charities.
In 2018-19, Native ARC (Animal Rehabilitation Centre), in Bibra Lake, and the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation received about a total of $19,413.25.
This amount comprised $9,920.75 from payroll giving and fundraiser events and $9,492.50 from matched Fremantle Ports contributions.
Staff contributed a total of 194 hours of volunteering to benefit Native ARC, Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, Guide Dogs WA, St Patrick’s Community Care and OzHarvest Cooking for a Cause.

Staff also donated more than 50 Christmas food hampers to St Patrick’s.
This financial year, our charities are the Freo Street Doctor and Guide Dogs WA.
Staff were treated to a visit from both of them recently when the Freo Street Doctor stopped off to collect ‘winter warmer’ donations from staff for their clients. The donations included sleeping bags, blankets, and warm jackets and clothing.

Also visiting Fremantle Ports staff were adorable Guide Dog Ambassador and Therapy dogs in training Cody and Bazza from Guide Dogs WA (below).
